[ This seems like it's working now. Nojiko is already out of the New Feather dress, having managed to get directions to the Welcome Center, where she got a run-down of what was going on. That took most of the morning. The rest of the morning was spent finding her clothing, changing, and then sitting at a corner table in the bakery reading through the entirety of the new arrival guide.

She also had breakfast. A muffin. It was a blessedly normal muffin.

The breakfast was the only remotely normal part of the morning. Now that she feels educated (although...skeptical and still trying to hold all of this information in), it looks like it's time to attempt using the journal, as was suggested to her earlier. She's still at her little table in the bakery, the journal held open in front of her. ]

Hello. [ just getting that greeting out of the way, before plunging onward. ] So, I understand that this is a way of talking to people here. [ The guide explained that, and she's sort of been checking out the last two or three entries, just figuring out how it works. ] And I'm also given to understand that there are people here from many worlds?

I'm not asking for that explanation again. I'm just not sure how I'm meant to find anyone from my own world. [ ...Or if she wants to. It's not like being from her world automatically makes someone excellent company or someone she wants anything to do with. But. ] How do you know if you're from this world or that one? If there were a list of possibilities, I guess I might have a chance of picking home out.

So I suppose I'm really just asking to be found. [ Dry laughter. Well, she's taken care of everything else, so...of course, there might not be anyone else. That had been covered, too. ] If you know Cocoyasi Village or the Conomi Islands, I'd be grateful for a quick word. [ Presumably anyone familiar with geography from home would be from home, right?

A pause. Wow, she forgot something important, didn't she? ] My name is Nojiko, by the way. Thanks. [ Okay she'll just end that there, then, and see what's what. ]

[It probably speaks volumes that Perona doesn't even notice the other woman's presence until she actually speaks, and even then her attention is torn; her response slow and delayed. The question registers after a moment of mute staring, and Perona shakes her head, looking down into her glass of tea which she really has no need for anymore.]

Mm, no. [There's a long pause, and Perona guesses she should continue.] I've been here for some time.

[Where "here" means in Luceti or in the bakery itself is a question yet to be answered.]

East Blue. [ If that helps at all. ]

[ Ah. The little girl doesn't sound pleased about knowing it... ]

Have you? Are we from the same world, then? [ Or is there another reason for that tone? ]

Destroyed Arlong Park. [ She'll elaborate, since not everyone lived under Arlong's fist for eight years. ] A fishman pirate. He and his crew took over the islands about eight years back. [ for her, at least. ]

It would be silly of me to mind something that's true, you know. I don't know anything after that, either; I don't even know the details there. The bounty increase was because of the World Government declaration, though. Nami chose an interesting crew.

[ ...There's a name that startles her. Why does this Marine know it? But then, he seems to have guessed her connection to at least a few of the pirates here. ]

You knew my mother, then?

[ It will be glorious. ]

Oh, I meant the mikan themselves. I don't think they have trees in the grocery store that I saw. [ A brief glance around was all she really got in, though. ...Maybe this place does have trees there? It is pretty weird. ]

I don't think I can - Ace said she wasn't here any longer?

[ That's not a promise not to do so, obviously... ]

[ Hey, her favourite colors. Nojiko accepts the apron without a fuss, sliding it on and tying the back ribbons. ]

You must like baking? [ Since. No money. ...Or she likes keeping busy, which is something Nojiko approves of. ]

[ Probably not new to Luceti, then...? That ticks off one possibility. ]

I'm Nojiko. [ She's still testing the waters. If Perona seems adverse to conversation, she'll leave her be - after she's certain the other woman is all right to be left alone, at least. ] I just got here today. From Cocoyasi.

[ She doesn't expect it to ring bells. ]

I'm not sure if I've seen mikan before there either.. [ but it's not like she comes there a whole lot, this girl practically lives in the library. ] Maybe we could go look at them together sometime. Even if those aren't in a grove.

[She nods enthusiastically, waving Nojiko back towards the sink so she can wash her hands.]

Oh, yes! Very much so. It's one of my favorite ways to pass the time.

[Nods slowly.] You're her other daughter then?

Oh! You are from my world then, eh?

I'm Marco, I've spent the better part of the last few decades on the Grand Line, however.

[Perona hums a sound in her throat that's supposed to be a sort of response. Really, she's normally a chatterbox all day everyday, but right now is an exception. She glances back into her tea as she mulls over Nojiko's words absently, one ringing out in her head that she actually says aloud--]

Cocoyashi...? [Why does that ring a bell? It's vague, but still, familiar. She's heard of it, maybe?]

[Vivi's first impulse when she sees the entry is to laugh. Not with genuine humor, oh no, but a flat, almost bitter laugh, because are you kidding me, Luceti?]

[The way the woman looks is her first hint; Nami had some pictures of herself and Nojiko as children with Bellemere. Still, Vivi doesn't think too much of it until the woman mentions Cocoyashi. Then she gives her name, and there's absolutely no doubt. Nami's just gone home, and Luceti has seen fit to bring her sister here instead. Which brings us to the laughter.]

[It's not long-lived, at least. After the initial burst, Vivi has no trouble composing herself, and then she answers:]

Nojiko-san? Hello. This may be a little hard to believe, but I know your sister. Nami-san. She...she's not here any longer.

No, someone I kne--know was born there. I was told about it from her.

[Among...other things, but that's neither here nor there and Miyabi's not about to divulge very deep and personal information about Nami to some complete stranger just because they so happen to be from the same village. No way, privacy will be respected even if the woman isn't here. Maybe even moreso because of that.]

I am. [ Well, obviously Bellemere knew marines at some point, having been a marine. ] The older daughter.

[ She's only familiar with the name from a previous conversation. ]

Ace's brother?

I must be talking to another pirate, hm?

[ She's spoken to enough people from her own world at this point to know that her sister had been here. So Nojiko has to ask. ]

Was her name Nami?

[ Just missed her. That's still a little disappointing, in a vague way; Nojiko's been used to the idea of not seeing her younger sister for long stretches of time since they were children and Nami joined Arlong's crew. After she left that crew she'd joined another, and what news Nojiko got came in the form of official bounties.

She misses Nami, of course, but Nojiko's used to that.

The voice is female, and she does know the name of another crew member she'd never met, so Nojiko hazards a guess. ]

Would this be Nico Robin?

[ The chances of the other girl being from her world are probably pretty slim, all things considered, but Nojiko expands on her original comment. ]

It's in the Conomi Islands, in East Blue.

I'm under the impression that finding ways to pass the time here is important.

[ She's heading to the sink to wash her hands now. La la la soap. ]

I'd like that. [ Shockingly. They've just started talking, but she's charmed by the younger girl. ] If you've never seen them, you've probably never eaten them, and that's something that needs to be fixed.
