[ This seems like it's working now. Nojiko is already out of the New Feather dress, having managed to get directions to the Welcome Center, where she got a run-down of what was going on. That took most of the morning. The rest of the morning was spent finding her clothing, changing, and then sitting at a corner table in the bakery reading through the entirety of the new arrival guide.

She also had breakfast. A muffin. It was a blessedly normal muffin.

The breakfast was the only remotely normal part of the morning. Now that she feels educated (although...skeptical and still trying to hold all of this information in), it looks like it's time to attempt using the journal, as was suggested to her earlier. She's still at her little table in the bakery, the journal held open in front of her. ]

Hello. [ just getting that greeting out of the way, before plunging onward. ] So, I understand that this is a way of talking to people here. [ The guide explained that, and she's sort of been checking out the last two or three entries, just figuring out how it works. ] And I'm also given to understand that there are people here from many worlds?

I'm not asking for that explanation again. I'm just not sure how I'm meant to find anyone from my own world. [ ...Or if she wants to. It's not like being from her world automatically makes someone excellent company or someone she wants anything to do with. But. ] How do you know if you're from this world or that one? If there were a list of possibilities, I guess I might have a chance of picking home out.

So I suppose I'm really just asking to be found. [ Dry laughter. Well, she's taken care of everything else, so...of course, there might not be anyone else. That had been covered, too. ] If you know Cocoyasi Village or the Conomi Islands, I'd be grateful for a quick word. [ Presumably anyone familiar with geography from home would be from home, right?

A pause. Wow, she forgot something important, didn't she? ] My name is Nojiko, by the way. Thanks. [ Okay she'll just end that there, then, and see what's what. ]

[ Well, that was a lot easier than she'd expected. He doesn't look familiar, though. Not in more than an "the face looks vaguely familiar but I can't think why" way; she'd never paid much attention to bounties outside of the Strawhats, okay. ]

Unless the geography on other worlds is pretty much exactly the same.

[That gets a small chuckle out of him.] Somehow, I doubt it.

In that case, it's nice to meet you, too. [ Guy with the vaguely familiar-sounding name. She'll figure this out eventually, but for now just looks faintly puzzled before moving on. ]

I don't suppose you know the names of anyone else from our world here? [ Just in case she knows someone. It's a long shot, since the world is pretty big, but you never know. ]

[This is probably the first time he's happy someone doesn't know him. It gets tiring having to to watch people react to a dead person being alive.] Oh, I know quite a few people from our world. Most of the Straw Hat crew is here. Luffy is, he's my little brother. Sanji, Zoro, [A slight sadness as he says the name.] Vivi, and Robin. Nami was here, but... she left not too long ago. Trafalgar Law, Smoker, and Princess Shirahoshi are here, too. Ah, same for my brothers, Marco and Sabo.

[ Even if she did recognize him finally, it'd just be in an "oh, pirate guy with a bounty" sense. She's not far enough ahead to know about everything that comes after.

But recognition does finally flicker on Nojiko's face - albeit not about Ace himself. ] The Straw Hats?

[ She does know them! At Nami's name she brightens, although what follows gets a short sigh. Of course. ]

Ah, then I think we do have something in common besides being from the same world. Nami's my younger sister. [ There are other Namis in the world, probably, but not any in the Straw Hat crew. ] ...I don't remember seeing a bounty poster for anyone named Vivi, though.

[Well, good thing for that. He is pleased, though, to hear someone be happy at hearing the names of the Straw Hats. This certainly isn't any ordinary girl.

He is rather surprised to hear her sister is Nami. That's a shock.] No kidding? I guess younger siblings have a thing for being famous pirates. And Vivi's a little more... well, her circumstances are a bit different. [He'll leave the explanation to Vivi, if she wants to.]

[ That gets a laugh out of her. ] No kidding. Actually, the last thing I remember was the arrival of her newest wanted poster. 16,000,000 beli.

[ She'd been smiling.

...Wanted poster. Ah-ha. ]

I think I've seen you on one of those, too.

--that much? [Sadly, he was thrown in prison before getting to see it.] Do you remember the others' wanted posters, too?

[Now he's a bit more confident when she mentions that.] I wouldn't be surprised. I am the Second Commander of the Whitebeard pirates.

[ Since that was pretty much the last thing to happen in her life, she actually does! Give her a second to call them up, though. Nojiko counts them off on her fingers. ] Luffy was 300,000,000, Zoro was at 120,000,000, "Sniper King Sogeking" whom I think was Usopp was at 30,000,000, Sanji was at 77,000,000, their pet Chopper was at 50, Devil Child Nico Robin was at 80,000,000, and Cyborg Franky was at 44,000,000. I never met the last three, though.

[ There's a grin. At least the niggling sense of recognition is gone now that she connected that. ] Fire Fist Ace, right? I remember your bounty, too.

[He lets out a low whistle.] Those are some pretty impressive numbers. [He will never not be proud of his little brother getting a huge bounty like that. And after two years, it had to have gone up...

And don't flatter him, Nojiko, not when you don't know he's dead.] That would be me. I'm flattered you recognize me.

Nami doesn't do things halfway, so I'm not surprised she joined a crew that does the same. [ Besides, she'd seen first hand what the original members were capable of. They'd toppled Arlong Park right before her eyes. ] Ah, and I remember them being fairly impressive while they were here. ...There. [ This is not Cocoyasi, whoops.]

I've got a fairly good memory, although I admit I only really read the Straw Hat bounties closely; bounties tend to be the most interesting pieces of news to come through Cocoyasi. Or the circumstances attached to raising them, really.

[He can't help but laugh.] They love doing things to the fullest, huh? What did they do in Cocoyashi?

[Hm, then it sounds like she really doesn't know about Marineford. He's pretty fine with this.] I'd heard Luffy beat up a shichibukai, and declared war on the World Government. I ah... don't know about anything after that, though. Your village sounds a little out of the way, if you don't mind me saying it.

Destroyed Arlong Park. [ She'll elaborate, since not everyone lived under Arlong's fist for eight years. ] A fishman pirate. He and his crew took over the islands about eight years back. [ for her, at least. ]

It would be silly of me to mind something that's true, you know. I don't know anything after that, either; I don't even know the details there. The bounty increase was because of the World Government declaration, though. Nami chose an interesting crew.

... ah. [It hurts a little, hearing about fishmen like that. He's got Namur and Jinbei, both of whom have been wonderful friends.] I'm sorry. But I'm glad Luffy could help you. He has a way of doing that.

[He doesn't know if he should mention the next raise in Luffy's bounty. He'd rather not discuss it now, though. He'll focus on another topic instead.] No kidding. It's like the crew attracts interesting people.

[ She just moves on from the topic. It's over, and that's what matters. ]

Have you met them all? [ Here or there; she's just curious. ]

I have. I met everyone but Robin, Franky, and Brook in Alabasta. I've met the rest here. [Sadly, he's never seen Usopp here, and Franky was only here for a short time.]

I met only the captain, the chef, the swordsman, and the liar.

[ So you've got quite a few on her, Ace. ] Ah, although I'm going to meet more of them here, I'm sure.

--oh. You never met Chopper? He's the doctor.

[He smiles.] Yep. The archaeologist and musician.

No, there were only the five of them when they stopped by Cocoyasi.

It seems like your brother is fairly good at collecting crewmates, though, so I'm not surprised.

I wish you could meet Chopper, but he left a few months back. [Ace still kinda misses the little guy.]

Hahahaha! He sure likes getting the best of things, I'll tell you that.

My sister is the best navigator the world's ever seen, that's for sure.
